We need to leverage our existing transportation assets to anchor economic development. The towns in this district have an international airport and two train stations – we should focus on creating walkable, pedestrian friendly communities that raise the quality of life for our current residents and businesses, and attract new employers and residents to the area. Smart investment in transit-oriented development will promote small business growth, expand our tax base and help alleviate the tax burden on our residents.
