Windsor Resident Jane Garibay, candidate for the 60th House of Representatives seat representing Windsor and Windsor Locks is on the Honor Roll for the CEA (Connecticut Education Association) for her positions on education, teachers and those who appreciate them with a grade of 99!
Jane has supported education in many ways: PTSA president, Board of Education President, Parent See Facilitator, room mother, tutor, mentor and is the co-founder of the Windsor Education Foundation which provides grants directly to teachers in the classroom. She was also the co-chair of the School Business Partnership, a partnership between the Windsor Public Schools, the Windsor Chamber of Commerce and the business community. This partnership developed programs connecting students and teachers with the business community.
Garibay has been a lifelong resident of Windsor and was employed as the Executive Director of the Windsor Chamber of Commerce for 19 years working with a wide variety of large and small businesses. Her more than 40 years of volunteerism includes serving as Windsor Board of Education President from 2000 to 2005. Her recent volunteer activities include serving as President and co-founder of the Windsor Education Foundation, President of the Windsor Food and Fuel Bank and President and Board member of Windsor Community Television and Co-Chair of Windsor’s Schools to Business Partnership.
